Rodney E. Hood serves as Corporate Responsibility Manager at JPMorgan Chase where he manages national partnerships with organizations that foster sustainable homeownership, provide financial capability & economic inclusion, and provide access to capital in underserved communities -- including low-to-moderate income, minority and disabled. Prior to joining JPMorgan Chase, Hood was Vice-Chairman of the National Credit Union Administration -- the financial regulatory body for the credit union / cooperative banking system in the United States. He was appointed to this role in 2005 by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the U.S. Senate. Prior to public service, Hood held management positions in the financial services industry: Division Manager, Community Development Lending at Wells Fargo; National Director, Affordable Housing at Wells Fargo; Community Reinvestment Manager at Bank of America; Corporate Marketing Director at North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance; and Credit Analyst at GE Capital. Hood is a former Member of the Wells Fargo Housing Foundation Board of Directors and is the recipient of several awards, including the Wells Fargo Dream Award in recognition of his unwavering support for affordable housing. Hood was also named one of region's 40 Under 40 young leaders by the Triangle Business Journal and was named a Young Leader by the American Council on Germany. Hood is also an avid arts supporter and serves as an Opera Panelist with the National Endowment for the Arts and is currently writing a book on opera. Hood was appointed in 2013 by the North Carolina Legislature to serve on the University of North Carolina Board of Governors-- the oversight body for the state's 17 public universities, hospitals, and public radio & television stations. Hood has fiduciary oversight for the college system's $12.5BN (USD) budget, 220,000 students and 53,000 faculty and staff. Hood serves as Vice Chair of the Audit, Risk Management and Compliance Committee. Hood gained his Bachelor's Degree with Distinction in Business Administration, Political Science and Speech Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Hood also participated in the Affordable Housing Institute at Harvard University.
