Austin Ramirez is the second-generation President and CEO of Husco International, a global engineering and manufacturing company. During his tenure as CEO, the company has grown more than 300% and been recognized as Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year. Before joining Husco, Austin was a consultant with McKinsey & Company, where he specialized in corporate finance and industrial operations. Austin was selected as a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum in 2014 and is the Founding Curator of the Forum’s Global Shaper Hub in Milwaukee. In 2016 he moved to Washington, DC to serve one year as a White House Fellow on the National Economic Council of both the Trump and Obama administrations. Austin is a member of the 2018 Class of Henry Crown Fellows at the Aspen Institute. An active citizen of Milwaukee with a passion for urban education, Austin has served on a number of education-focused nonprofit boards including the Milwaukee chapter of Teach For America, Milwaukee YMCA, and United Performing Arts Fund. He is a co-founder and board member of St. Augustine Preparatory Academy and a founding member of City Reformed Church. In addition, Austin has served as a director of the Greater Milwaukee Committee, Metropolitan Milwaukee Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Manufacturers. Austin holds a BS in systems engineering from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Stanford University, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar and Goldman Sachs Fellow. Austin is a former USA Swimming National Champion and FINA World Championships gold medalist.
